For me all I would need is a logo of the band, band and venue name, date and time. Also a website address would be ideal to get more info. That seems like a lot of info on a poster!
I will keep you in mind and refer you if it ever comes up in conversation! Do you have a myspace account? There are a ton of bands on it and you can probably solicit business on it.
I run into the same problem with my rave flyers. They want bios and pics and missiion statements and I try to tell them that it's too much, but they feel that the more there is to read the longer it will be in their hands and the more of a chance they'll holdon to it and go to the show. Artists v.s. cliets... worse that Godzilla v.s. Mothra.
I remember back in the day, finding rave flyers and reading every word. Often the mission statements from dj's were the main factor in my decision as to whether or not I would go. I can totally understand your frustration, as I am sure you have to fill in alot more information in a much smaller space. Ive seen your flyers, and I know you do a good job at it. Using a small point size font on top of an image and keep it still legible is not an easy thing to do.
