Sure I do...but I can totally understand not wanting to talk about it. I hate giving up the extras....not that I NEED them...I just may WANT them sometime soon.

Well, let see... I drive only to dr appts and to get food. I could eliminate one of those if I switched to Safeway home delivery, but I don't trust those guys. I live within 1 mine of most things, except my pain doc.

I haven't been to a movie in the theatre in about 5 years. I'm selling everything I own that I don't love, Which is any DVD I haven't watched in a year, books that aren't reference, since those are hot ticket items.

My teeth are critical, but the ex-hub dropped the dental insurance due to non-payment, so the cavities I can suffer a bit longer.

Besides food, cell phone (my only phone), and TV/somputer so I don't get too isolate, I'm saving up to pay my lawyer so I can get the ex-hub for the smoney he's shorting me.

I lost about 10-lbs in the last 10 days because I'm eating less. I haven't bought clothing in about a year. (And that was at Wal-Mart or Goodwill by the pound.)

Damn....that's just all types of messed up, but you know what? I think a lot of us are going to have to go that route should things continue the way they are. I'm thinking about letting my brother move in with me to save money....and if you knew my brother, you'd know that's major and I must be plenty desperate to offset some of my expenses.

I really need to learn to live with less. I've become pretty spoiled, but I'm getting better. I haven't really shopped in a while. I've hit the thrift stores quite a bit in the past year, and I've been buying a good deal of my books from library sales and they are dirt cheap that way.

Other than that, I haven't even thought about putting on the a/c in the house. The kid and I sleep on the floor in the living room or in the basement on hot nights. I've switched to energy efficient bulbs, and we don't eat out nearly as much.

I hope things get better for you soon.

And just out of curiosity, what do you like to read?

:::::sympathy hug::::::

For the first time in 8 years, we sat down and did a budget. It was amazing the amount of "creep" we'd allowed in. $20 a month for this, $20 a month for that, $50 here, I won't even mention how much we spend eating out.....it all adds up to one big, cut that out if you want to keep putting gas in the tank!

Yikes...yeah the gas thing. I am resenting like hell the fact that I live in a city without good mass transit options.

I would gladly give up my car these days....GLADLY!!! That would easily save me about 10K a year!

Thanks. I try.

I mean, I can't do the multiparagraphical and highly informative posts that you are so gifted at producing...but I hold my own.

You are so right about everything seeming like a necessity. I miss wasting all of my money, but I seriously have so many bills to pay. Here is the long-ass list of things I am doing to try and cut corners ( ... )

Girl...at least you are actually DOING something. I'm just bitching about it right now.

I'm totally pissed that I have to cut my own grass again (sounds really uppity, but I really don't have time to do this). And man do I wish I could leech the internet off of my neighbors. My mom does.

But congrats on the tablet! Sounds like my Kindle purchase from last week. Hell, the way I see it...if you get up and go to work everyday...you outta be able to get SOMETHING for yourself every once in a while.
