Why was I totally creeped out yesterday when this guy asked me for romance novel recommendations in the book store?

I saw him perusing the aisles and he seemed to hover over in the QP, Erotica, "Ellora's Cave" type of books - general area. I DID NOT get the impression that he was shopping for anyone other than himself and he didn't mention the fact ( Read more... )

Ah kids. It's like having a little spy live with you for 18 years. They secretly record everything you don't want them to and ignore what you do want them absorb.

Maybe he was using the books as evidence in a trial. Maybe.

I also think that men could benefit from reading romance novels. Especially since some are really sweet and well-written.

I think I would be really creeped out too...very strange. I guess it would be good for guys t read a romance or two, like you said, but it seems fundamentally wrong for any man to be openly digging THE female genre. Very funny. I love that he gave you his business card too :D Weirdo.

Yeah, that card thing really threw me for a loop. I looks kinda bootlegged too, so I'm wondering if he was just some sort of weirdo con artist trolling the romance section for vulnerable women.

Okay? That's what I was thinking. Dude was all up in the way...reading the backs of the books...acting all high on life and whatnot!

And you may be right. Perhaps he was trolling for women who read the more hardcore stuff...looking for someone who shares his...interests?

Ewwwwww! I just skeeved myself out!

I dunno. I couldn't even manage to form a coherant thought. I just wanted out of there...and away from him.
