I agree with most of what you said, but especially:

As for Gen 2, I'm not exactly what you'd call a massive fan of those two series. There were definite moments of awesome, but they were few and far between for me. Plus, the Gen 2 "ending" was horribly disappointing, utterly ridiculous, and unfulfilling... in my opinion.
I can't wait for you to start Gen 3. I'm loving it to bits, and as far as I can tell, that sentiment seems pretty unanimous so far.
Gawd, that Gen 2 ending was terrible...like I kept looking at the time and thinking 'when are they gonna show something good?' and 'are they gonna find out about Freddie or what?'...then when it ended I really did say 'WHAAAAAAT THAT'S IT?!' out loud.
Been hearing good stuff on Gen 3. I'm gonna start it soon...most likely next week since the weekend will be a busy one (plus it's NBA All-Star weekend in LA too ;))
haha well you were a lot nicer to Gen2 than I was. I hated both of their series. I just found it impossible to feel anything for ANY of those characters. Plus the writing and plots were unforgiveably sloppy and there was just no group dynamic. Like I couldn't and didn't believe that these people were friends. They didn't spend enough time developing their friendships.
Which I am happy to say is NOT the case for Gen3. We have the same deal as with Gen2 where the season starts out with them NOT all being friends. But we are only 3 episodes in and I can already envision how these friendships are going to develop and it is all so lovely and funny and natural!! And plus, these new characters ROCK!!! I am rooting for every single one of them (even the mean asshole ones) and they are just so different from anything we have had before.
What can I say? People say that sometimes I'm a little too nice for my own good lol. But I was kept entertained with Gen 2. I do agree that their friendships felt kinda rushed, but I did like how they brought over the Effy/Pandora friendship over from S2 though :P
As soon as I catch up with Gen 3, I'll post my thoughts on it...I'm hearing good things so I'm a little excited to start it :)

And when they started dancing I was thinking WHY when they could be showing something more important to the storyline. I kept looking at the time and it was running out and then the ending was crap!
Gonna start s5 asap! I'm hearing/seeing that everyone is loving it so far!
