Family is a funny thing. My husband and our 21 year old daughter just walked in and brought me dinner. Sometimes the best ones aren't the ones that created you but the ones you create.

(Just for clarification, I love my immediate family and think the world of them. But the family I've been made a part of has been wonderful as well.)

It just makes more sense to me to refer to him as such rather than "boyfriend", etc. We're as permanent as I'd like to think it gets.

That is very true, and very sweet of them. I'm very happy for you. From what you have said, both of your families are great!

I realized after I left the AIDS benefit, I didn't get to meet Emery's daughter and I meant to.
