the daewoo died in the middle of the interstate today. the timing belt went, which evidently ruined the valves. or something. just enough damage to make it not worth fixing. so i am now the proud owner of a 2006 subaru impreza. but don't worry, i promise i won't be strapping any kayaks or mountain bikes to it, nor will i be slapping any "save ( Read more... )

to be perfectly honest, i had never even heard of a timing belt before two days ago. but i had my car serviced routinely, and had everything done that they said was needed, so i'm guessing... yes? trust me, though, i am going to be way more aware of what's going on under the hood of my car from here on out.

anyway, i'm actually totally lucky that my parents were planning on buying me a new car at the end of the summer anyway (graduation/graduate school present). i'm incredibly grateful for them.
