So I've decided that I cannot be a Philadelphia Eagles fan any longer. I will not watch the games, I will not cheer for them, and I will be hoping they lose every game. As long as Michael Vick is on the team. I made that decision as soon as I heard the news.

( In which I rant and ramble about the whole thing... )

It doesn't matter to me. He'll still be wearing the uniform. As long as he does, they do not have my support.

I am tired of people saying he deserves a second chance. No he does not.

Well. He did serve his time and he does deserve a chance to be a productive member of society again.

HOWEVER. He does NOT deserve a multi-million dollar sports contract and a job that puts him in a position where impressionable children might look up to him.

I don't see how this can end up being anything other than a public relations nightmare for the Eagles and I really wonder WTF they were thinking.

You should keep your football loyalties in state though ;)

Hell no.

But more importantly, I wouldn't want my (theoretical) son watching the games and saying "I wanna be like Michael Vick when I grow up"

Ugh, it makes me sick that he will have a multi-million dollar contract and there are good people living paycheck to paycheck.

What pisses me off most is that he acts like none of this is his fault. Sure, he says he takes responsibility but I've heard several occasions where he's said something that gave the effect of "other people swept me up in it and I didn't know what I was doing was wrong"...He makes me sick and I agree about not watching Eagles or supporting them....it's going to be hard though because Mike is still a fan and he will watch the games.

You are so right about the not taking responsibility thing. I don't think he is truly remorseful for what he did.

Our nearest team is so awful I was shocked the Bengals hadn't signed him. They seem not to care much about someone's criminal record. :P
