Who: Uzumaki Naruto what_is_stealth, Uchiha Sasuke scales_shed What: Naruto tries to make sense of things and escape. Where: Starting at the dock. When: Now.
Sasuke hated this part of Nuadoria for many reasons. He landed on the roof of one of the
Smoker had his headquarters in this area. And he'd had enough problems with the leader of the task force then he'd ever wanted. Their definition of justice would always be different, and while Smoker wasn't okay with that, Sasuke was.
Sasuke's eyes narrowed as he remembered the other main reason he didn't like this area. The loud sound still rung in his ear. And even though he'd forgiven him at the time...he remembered the person responsible for him getting killed.
His eyes darted to streak of blond, and without even thinking, Sasuke's eyes transform, the blood red of the sharingan taking over his iris. Naruto. He was back after months. Without thinking, he jumped down from the building, staring at Naruto's back. He said nothing, wondering if Naruto was still oblivious as ever.
That was odd. A familiar chakra was nearby and Naruto spun around to see who it was. If it weren't for the difficult training, his senses, that were still going haywire, would have failed to alert him of a dangerous presence, lurking behind him.
Naruto tensed up, ready to strike or dodge at any time. In his latest experiences of dealing with Sasuke those two actions seemed to be the most effective in remaining alive. But right now he wanted to speak. Naruto had already heard almost every side of the story. Here was the person he really needed explanations from. Here was the best friend that saved his life at the price of his own, and then proceeded to attempt to murder him with complete disregard for Naruto's opinion on that matter.
“What are you doing here?” Naruto asked warily. These weren't the circumstances he imagined meeting his best friend under, but whatever worked. If he couldn't talk the answers out of Sasuke, he could always try to beat them out.
The Uchiha said nothing. This mist was still infecting his senses. Everything that had happened the last time Naruto was here was coming to the forefront of his thoughts, and each little thing just made his gaze harden more and more. Naruto forcing him to live with him. Naruto forcing his hand to make them allies again. Naruto getting him killed. Naruto taking his sword in the other world. Naruto making him feel.
Hate and angered swelled and a faint ringing in his ear got louder. His pulse quickened. There was a part of him, saying how stupid it was for him to even go to Naruto like this. It was. But he wouldn't let any of what happened occur again.
His hand moved back to his sword, and his fingers wrapped around the hilt. Beyond that threatening move, he was still. After a few more moments of silence, he spoke lowly, "I want nothing to do with you."
Naruto was aware of that movement. His fingers twitched, preparing to take out a kunai knife from a pouch on his belt if it became necessary. Naruto remembered the fact he came face to face with a while ago. He really had no idea what was going through Sasuke's head and every time he thought he finally understood his best friend- he was proven wrong. Even so, deep down the blond ninja continued believing that people could reach understanding, including Sasuke and himself.
"Yeah, I got that," frowning, Naruto accepted that knowledge. "Doesn't mean I'll stop coming after you."
He wasn't willing to compromise. Fingers crawled closer to the weapon pouch as Naruto continued waiting for the next move.
