Who: Zero (instrumented) & Kaname (truestblood) What: It's been a month since Zero last fed. Where: In one of the rooms in the church When: Backdated to shortly after this
It wasn't long before the door opened, and Kaname stepped through. He slid his communicator back into his pocket when he crossed the threshold, closing the door softly behind him. He greeted Kiryuu with deliberate silence, with only the briefest of eye contact, before he glanced around the room appraisingly. It was a room that lacked the feeling of living people. There were a few personal effects strewn about, but none that looked disturbed; It was just a room with a desk and shelves with dusty contents, surely not the worst place that Zero could have selected.
Kaname turned his head, focusing on Zero. "A church? Really, Kiryuu?"
The distaste of Kaname's presence had settled in before the pureblood even entered the room. Zero simply wanted to get this all over with, yet again. Knowing that the particular circumstance between he and Kaname very likely wasn't one that was going to end with this meeting wasn't something that Zero wanted to think about.
It was even worse, however, to realize that the itch at the back of his mind was the feeling of anticipation. Remembering the way Kaname tasted infuriated Zero, but not more than how addictive & potent it was.
Zero would've rather paid more attention to the title of the book on the abandoned desk, trying to guess what sort of language it was in, instead of bring his focus to Kaname. He also would have liked to maybe have Bloody Rose within his grasp - which he happened to bring along, but really, Zero typically didn't go anywhere without it - but recalled the last time, and chose to leave the gun as it was within an inner coat pocket.
"Maybe you'd have preferred the sewers?" He retorted.
"It wouldn't be any more fitting," Kaname replied, moving towards one of the bookcases. None of the book spines were written in a language that Kaname understood. Not even the keepsakes held any apparent religious significance, on closer inspection. It reminded him that he, they, knew too little. "I take it this is not one of your hiding places."
"No, it's not," a simple response. Not that Zero had any particular areas that he ran off to in the first place. The thought of such a place almost made him feel nostalgic for the Academy.
Zero glanced again to the book and nearly felt he should laugh. He was on enough of an edge to begin with.
He took a few steps towards the other."Any more questions, Kuran?"
"Many. But they're not the questions you can answer," Kaname slowly removed his coat, not wanting to risk the fabric being scented with his blood. He noted the display of aggression. It was only a few steps, but either Zero was hungrier than he let on or he wanted to get this over with; probably a mixture of both. "If you could avoid making a mess, I would appreciate it."
He unbuttoned the collar of his dark red shirt, enough so that he could pull one side of the shirt away from his neck. Zero didn't have the cleanest record when it came to the intricacies of feeding, but it was not as though the other had spent much time perfecting it. "I would like to go home with my shirt intact," he added, a reference to their last encounter a month before.
The itch he felt earlier at the back of his thoughts was now clawing at Zero's senses, melting in with the contempt he held towards both Kaname, but more so for the desperate, insatiable creature within himself.
Zero's now-red gaze was obstructed by pale silver hair as he moved, though the collar of his shirt and jacket didn't quite cover the glow of the marking on his neck. While Kaname's words hadn't fallen upon deaf ears, Zero's arm went to wrap around the other, fingers digging into the shirt's fabric just as his fangs met skin.
...lucky enough for Kaname, Zero's actions weren't as careless as before, even though they certainly could have been.
Kaname's left hand found the juncture of the other's neck and shoulder. His thumb slid down to apply a warning pressure on Zero's collarbone, where he could easily snap the bone if he wanted. Don't get carried away, the touch said.
He naturally tensed at Zero's hold but relaxed as much as he was able. It was simply easier to feed that way, he knew. Kaname breathed deeply, evenly, lifting his head up for the inevitable. His eyes closed, anticipating the brief sting and the ripple of pain, just as Zero's fangs broke through his skin. He refused to make a sound, only his breath stuttered for a beat or two before it evened out again. Then there was only the pain-not-pain sensation of losing blood. He kept his eyes closed, concentrating on his breathing to keep his heartbeats steady.
The first few moments after biting were soon forgotten, put out of Zero's thoughts as he forced himself to concentrate on what he was doing, rather than the initial sensation of just how the blood tasted and felt. He focused on his own pulse and the pressure against his neck, calming his breathing as much as he was able; Zero knew well enough about the power that a pureblood held.
Still, he drank deeply, just barely preventing himself from going over the line. When he did finally let up, Zero released his grasp on Kaname, and leaned against one of the bookshelves instead, for support.
The area of skin where Kiryuu bit had gone numb, but Kaname still felt the slow trickle of blood that hadn't been caught. He touched the punctures before they completely healed, noting with some surprise that Zero hadn't inflicted the damage as he had the other time. The previous tiny, ugly wounds had been the kind that would've left scars on a human. It was an improvement. Kaname wiped his neck and absently licked the blood off his fingers. He leaned against the desk, taking a breath as the dizziness made itself more pronounced. He watched the younger vampire, expression judging, weighing, before the look was replaced with something infinitely more impassive.
Zero had his eyes closed. Although he had fed from Kaname a couple of times in the past, the blood of two purebloods (both Kaname and Shizuka) was more than jarring to Zero's body. The bookshelf splintered as Zero dug his nails into it, strengthening his hold before eventually straightening his position.
He eyed Kaname briefly before wiping the excess blood from his chin. He was better. For now. Anything more than a small nod in return would be unnecessary.
Although leaving the church to go back to his room would be highly preferred, Zero didn't move toward the door quite yet. "Be quick, if you need to as well," he stated, indifferent compared to his earlier tone. "I want to get out of here."

"Better?" he asked, and not because of goodwill.
