ditto on npr. ever since the cd player in our car crapped out, we've been listening to A LOT of npr. erin has always been a frequent listener, though. anyway, yeah it is usually awesome and as far as hearing the same segment four times in a row but being somehow unwilling or unable to change the station, i've been there.
you suck for getting an ipod. but you already knew that, so i'll leave it alone. ;) (translation: i want one so bad but hate myself for it. digital will kill music.)
somehow i missed this entry when you posted it before, but i think the FM tuner on my mp3 player is the greatest thing possible. sometimes i postpone my departure from houston or austin just so that i can listen to npr the whole way there. and congrats on the ipod, even though i'm an iRiver kind of girl.
and about casting an african american as an asian: it reminds me of dances with wolves, where the lead female native american in the film was a WHITE WOMAN. same with that anti-pollution commercial from the 70s where the native american cries. that guy was ITALIAN. anyway, "flower drum song" sounds good, i'd never heard of it. i'll check it out.
