Hopefully they budget enough money so the library can be open more than 44 hours a week, mostly during week days, so people can use it.

For about a minute I was thinking: "Where is the Wichita Public Library now?" Then I remembered and felt stupid.

I don't know if I can love any public library as much as I love the Fayetteville Public Library. It just has that... something. I vibe maybe? That makes it 100% awesome. Plus the architecture's amazing and there's a coffee shop in the lobby. :)

I dearly wish the WPL had coffee available. The SC library had complimentary coffee and hot chocolate and some teas, but of course they weren't the fanciest of things. Still, a nice hot chocolate makes writing a research paper much easier.... I'd be willing to pay a small fee for those things at the public library even.

This is a full-on coffee shop of the localized chain variety. But it's beautiful. When you first walk into the library, you're greeted with the smell of coffee. When you walk into the main part, a beautiful main stairway and the smell of books. On the way out, grab a hot chocolate for the road (and to curl up with the book when you get home). I miss that damned place.

I sent you a myspace message, but I might as well say it here too. Didn't you get a membership at the Y? We should yoga. It would be beautiful.

My big thing with these two articles is that the Eagle said "The library decided to build a library and..." when really the library picked a spot where they'd like to build a library, if the City Council says it's OK. That's kind of a difference. Also, the building isn't necessarily going to be open by 2012 or 2013 - that's just when the funds are available in the city's budget to start building.
