This is directly inspired by those on my flist giving their thoughts on the latest developments of Doctor Who. I think all I mentioned was that I saw it, and that I liked it ( Read more... )

This is an excellent post. I am one of those having troubles letting go of not only Ten/David but RTD's era of DW. That said, I love and appreciate the changing nature of the show because that's what keeps it going, keeps it fresh and new. While I have my reservations about it all still, I'm hoping to be wowed, I just haven't been yet from the first episode. I think there were just too many changes too soon and it was a bit overwhelming. Though I think the root of the way I'm feeling actually lies with Steven Moffat, there's just something about him when I watch him in interviews and such that set me wrong. That probably sounds silly, but there it is. Still, I liked the first episode and am looking forward to seeing what else they have in store for us.

I sort of groaned when I heard that Stephen Moffat would be taking over as well. He struck me as pompous, and he might be, I don't know. But, he might not be either.
He makes me a little wonky as well.

I think the reason I'm so grateful for this first episode is because it sort of made me hopeful again, so that I'm looking forward to the new show more than I was before.
Yeah....I think that's what I mean. lol

Pompous, yes, that's exactly how he appears to me. And he may not be, but there's just something about him. I watch him in an interview and I feel like I've just been duped by a snaky car salesman.

I'm hopeful still. Of course, no matter what I end up thinking about it, I'm committed to the series as a whole and I'll always watch it :)
