Enjoyable read as always.

However, I don't see the logic of saying a bunch of people have done Evil Corporate Scumbag Thing X That Hurts American Workers, so we shouldn't hold it against this other guy who does it on the other side.

Just because they're all pigs doesn't mean we should excuse one of them's pigginess, especially to the tune of Hail to the Chief.

Personally, I don't give rat's rear about negative ads. I care about truthful ads and ads that expose important things. I don't want politics to pretend to be Disneyland or feel it should. Negativity in an ad does not invalidate it. We've lost the press when it comes to pointing out mistakes... negative ads are just about all we have left. It would be nice though if they weren't so puerile and marketed to the dumbest of the dumb, indeed.

And this is the problem with private equity. You could also use the equity of the business to take out a ton of loans, and use accounting smoke and mirrors to make it look like the business has a nice balance sheet, and then sell it off at a profit, and cackle as you watch it collapse under the weight of your mismanagement.
