I've just finished my second book, Nightmare in Silicon. Here's the synopsis:
Ymo is a girl.
Ymo gets sick.
Ymo will die.
Ymo gets turned into a robot (not a girl).
Robots don't die.
Robots don't sleep.
Robots don't dream.
I might post some excerpts later.

im not sure...
i have gotten a few text messages via my lj profile over the past year about splinternails...very cryptic stuff...
the last one i got was about www.qu13e.com .
the day i got the message i looked around and looked at the site and something clicked to look up the name via LJ and a journal came up for it qu13e and it was created earlier that day. so i added it to my friends list.. i was the only one that had it on my friends list.. a few days later i checked it..the style had been changed but never updated...and then about 3 weeks later a bunch of people started contacting via lj, myspace, deviantart, email, messenger, and a few other places asking me how i was related to him, if i know him in person, if i have slept with him, etc.. etc. because apparently they were playing some kinda game.
i checked the journal again and like 5 other people added qu13e and another journal called sparkrent started. so i dont know what is going on ( ... )

I love that he's so popular he can hide and people still try to find him. I had just posted on a messageboard about him cause someone there had a similar name (splinter-something), and I asked if that was him, and then someone found the post and pointed me to the qu13e site. Guess it could just be all his followers and he's not even involved.

Either one strikes me as quite a sensible option tho, given the circumstances.
Altho, "insane" is possibly not an adequate word, being human in definition, and Ymo being (possibly) no longer human. To quote the almighty Dixie Flatline;
"Now me, I'm alive. Or at least it feels like I am. But I ain't gonna write you no poem. Now your AI, it just might. But it ain't no way gonna be human. Got me?"
And I'm guessing that's your point, right there. Is humanity defined by form? Longevity? Outside the limits of our bodies, are we human? If not, what?
Christ. It really has been a long day.
