POTD - Prompt edition

The next prompt was to do a project showing the a/r relationship from another character's POV.

bugsfic had Tory frowning across at Bill and Laura in Networking
I used Shelly in A Woman Scorned
And defyingnormalcy wrote Billy Knows BestA lot of people seemed to be oblivious to Bill and Laura's more personal relationship, which often seems insane to me, considering how ( Read more... )

But my favourite observation comes from a surprising source: Romo Lampkin.

Ooh, I love that one, too. He's so much more observant than absolutely anyone else. (I'm sure that's why he's a good lawyer.)

To me, Saul's reaction was always more of a, "wait, what the hell, you actually did it and you DIDN'T FRAKKING TELL ME? All that time supporting you and watching you wait around in a raptor and that fist fight we had and then she moved out after Earth and you were all sad and then YOU DIDN'T FRAKKING TELL ME ( ... )

I think your point about the Oath being after the Hub is a good one. How could anyone not realise Bill's feelings? And surely they realised Laura felt the same way after that and Revelations. So... they thought they were never going to have sex? Just.don't.understand.

Mmm... Interesting point about Zarek and Gaeta using their relationship to gain control of the fleet, I've not thought about that before. Although, I would say, the government was in a shambles. Zarek was trying to take over via the quorum and was not getting anywhere. Gaeta's motivations are quite confusing at times. At least Zarek was what I'd call a villain all along, but Gaeta was so loyal to Bill, it took me a long time to get my head around the mutiny arc!

I will love Romo Lampkin forever because of that moment. *Sigh*

I think he acts more adult than any of the other characters in that scene. And I love that Bill is one of the few characters he doesn't get the better of. Even though Bill agrees about Laura, he refuses to give in about Zarek.

Confession time: I was totally irritated by his whole Mary Sue He Knows Everything insertion into 'our' couple's life.

But Miru's point that anyone at the trial could surely sense something was up is true. Then again, I kept trying to make sense of Lampkin who looks in his 40's, supposedly working for Bill's father, who'd be at least 100 years old if he were alive, and when could this happen, so it totally distracts me.

See, I always assumed him working for Joe was a lie. I thought he was simply saying that to manipulate Lee. He lied about heaps of other stuff after all. (You have this distracting you whilst I'm still confused by the cat!!!) Let's not ask ourselves how Lee manages to let both Romo and Zarek manipulate him so easily...

And of course Romo was a Mary Sue! Ronald Moore = Romo!

Out of all of them Romo's observation seemed out of the blue, and did up til I started to write this comment, but they probably gave him a lot of ammunition to work with during the trial. Romo was always observant and probably didn't need much from our favorite couple, but they always have seemed together, except for maybe the small time in the beginning and then Bill's reaction to Lee's line of questioning probably cleared up any doubts Romo had. Yeah. I think that just became my head/cannon: Romo observing Bill & Laura and deciding there was definitely a thing.

The fact that Bill and Laura were more than just friends was supposedly hidden during the trial. But... As if! Romo was getting ammunition for Baltar's defence from what Bill was confiding in Lee, so perhaps he was more focussed on the Bill/Lee relationship and had ignored the Laura/Bill one? IDEK He must have obviously wanted Bill as a judge for the Lee connection, because it wouldn't have taken much to discredit Bill's right to be one by outing Laura and Bill. Or even if he couldn't prove they were more than friends, he could have proved they had too much history and Bill had too much history with Baltar as well.

It's all a little odd...

Well he might have been focusing on the Bill/Lee relationship but he might have filed anything he observed about Bill and Laura to use for later. Idk, it's just a thought that passed through my head. Lol.

For sure! He noticed lots! All those things he stole remember! All had a meaning to them. (Plus, of course, they made him look nutso!)
