Oh yeah, I do. Everyone else she laughs with either dies or betrays her. :(
I think one of the things about it is that she has only just met most of these people (except Billy -- and Wally!) and she takes a while to be comfortable enough to laugh with them. Whereas, most of the other characters, Bill has known for at least 2 or 3 years (depending on the show's canon of when he started on Galactica).
Plus, I think her smiles at Bill are genuine. Laura does the fake smile really well.
Well this gives me something to look for when I watch the series again, lol! But yeah those fake smiles, I love those, seems like Mary has taken those into The Closer/Major Crimes too. It's the eyes really, her face might be smiling, but her eyes hold a death glare that have the power to smite men.
FACT. Look at that first picture -- he's wiggling his way into her heart already. A couple of speed bumps -- some headbutting and one little coup d'état later, and they were bound to fall in love, right? Right.
I do love the way she responds to his speechifying in the mini. It's one of my favorite moments in the series. ♥
I really think she realised immediately his speech was much more personal than he had intended it to be, and she was impressed by that. Just imagine how many boring speeches she'd had to sit through in her career! It must have made a nice change to know he meant every word he said up on that stage.
And, when you think about it, there was a lot she could have learnt from that speech about Bill's personality. It was very 'him'. To take the blame, to be thinking of his family, to admit he isn't perfect... A lot of people say mini and season one Bill are different from later, but that scene and the way he changes his mind and flees are perfect Bill characterisation. :)
Yes, definitely. I also like to think she agreed with and was impressed by what he said. That's easily up for interpretation, I suppose, but it's definitely my interpretation/headcanon! :D These two. ♥ Sees and speaks through the bullshit Adama, and the woman who sekritly loves that about him.

Totally MM rocks the fake smile and totally Sharon does it, as do quite a few of her other characters. I love it. It's so 'frak you'.
