What did Bill know and when did he know it?

In the spirit of celebrating The Hub, I wonder if we could discuss some of the nagging questions I have about that story arc:

Did Bill know that Laura was going on the Basestar to interrogate the Hybrid?

Why does Laura bring Baltar because of his appearance in her vision but not Sharon?

Why does she bring Helo but not Starbuck?

If she didn't tell ( Read more... )

Thanks for jumping in, K! We love to see members start topics, particularly thinkie thoughts ones. (That way we don't have to think.)

I've ALWAYS wondered about Laura just storming off in the middle of the night on her own. I swear, there's a big ol' hole in the ship that needs to be filled.

I always say that Bill knew, but he didn't think it was a big deal. The basestar wasn't supposed to be jumping away, after all. She should have been safely back on Galactica, hopefully with some answers to that annoying dream, when it left for the mission. He knew about the dream, so I'm assuming he knew she was going ( ... )

Oooh, good topic!

Did Bill know that Laura was going on the Basestar to interrogate the Hybrid?

I don't believe he had any idea. She just got up and left, like a bat out of hell. I'd be surprised if they even had time to file a flight plan.

Why does Laura bring Baltar because of his appearance in her vision but not Sharon?

Heh. Perhaps she wanted Baltar close because he was such a weasel, and if there was some Important Revelation concerning him, she wanted him right there where he couldn't hide. (Okay, I'm stretching a bit. But you're right--she should have taken not just Sharon, but also Caprica Six, along for the ride.)

Why does she bring Helo but not Starbuck?

That one's easy! Because RDM needed someone really uptight about Justice and Doing the Right Thing to be present for the destruction of the Resurrection Hub. Leemo couldn't be there because he was busy lawyering, so Helo won the job by default. And as for Kara... well, someone had to save the day back on Galactica, right? :-D

If she didn't tell Bill, how did he feel ( ... )

reunion fic, for example, tends to gloss over Laura's trangressions and go straight for the make-up sex. I hope you're not saying this is a bad thing. :)

Make-up sex, a bad thing?!... Not in my universe! (Though sometimes I wouldn't mind seeing Bill call her on some of her 'unilateral decisions' after the thrilling reunion sex... it would do both of them some good! )
