Strange as it may seem, many people never even noticed Harvey Dent's first appearance in Batman: The Animated Series! I'm not just talking about people who'd never heard of the character before, but actual Batman fans who should have otherwise recognized the man who would become Two-Face! Seriously! Y'know, I think you are the very first fan I've met here or anywhere else on LJ who's my own age. Everyone else is either a few years older or younger at least. Was 1983 just a poor crop for comic fans to-be?

What I'd really like to know, though, is just why Harvey is dressed like one of Santa's little helpers in the rooftop scene. I mean, goodness knows I'm no fashion whiz myself, but come ON. Red jacket with big yellow buttons, green pants, pink shirt, pink hanky? What, did he choose his wardrobe by throwing darts at a Hawaiian shirt?
(Oh, and incidentally, man, are you planning to respond to any of the comments to your 'Batman: Terror' post any time soon? I mean, of course this is your site and all, and you're a busy guy and you post a lot of stuff and all of that, so I can understand WHY you haven't, but it was a good post, and there were some interesting responses to it that I'd say merit responses of their own. Just sayin'.)

Eh, maybe he went to the same tailor as all the characters from the Dick Tracy movie. The colors in these early issues certainly are bold enough. Things get a bit more dark and muted as the issues go on, as we'll be seeing in the first proper appearance of Two-Face in TBA.
