1. In December, I'm going to go see The Sound of Music in London (new stage production). The lead was chosen by a Pop Idol / American Idol / X factor / etc. -esque process, which means my sisters are excited. I'm excited just because it's The Sound of Music and supercool. re 5... what happened between this time last year and now to cause a productive meeting to be possible? When Paolo tried to have a similar thing then, no one would say anything.

For a start, it was grad students only, with Kenny, Gwyn and I writing up a report currently. Secondly, the target audience of this report is the Dean of Graduate Affairs, who's conducting a review of us. We also had precise questions from her to consider, which helped.

Oh, you're going to see the winner of the "Problem Like Maria" reality show? Super cool.

(OK, I love The Sound of Music. I took the van tour when I was in Salzburg and hopped around the gazebo.)

Yes. Slightly worried about how she was chosen, but that's the draw for my sisters.
