[Eike does let go and takes a moment to rub the face of his head. Remembers what it is they should be doing and returns to totally fleeing and explaining what little he knows in the run.]

There are a lot of ... monsters in this place. It's actually quite troublesome. Scary might be a better word, but we might actually get eaten if we aren't careful.

[ iggy's -- well, he's not really doing anything, except just walking around a bit. still not sure what exactly to think, to do. it's only a way of killing time, really. and he's pretty sure he's memorized the breathing patterns and heartbeat of that optimist noise. it's just the two of them here in somewhere-between-life-and-death-land, right?

so when he hears an unfamiliar breathing pattern somewhere up ahead, he pauses in his footsteps. automatically makes sure that his wings are properly tucked beneath his back, under his windbreak -- before asking cautiously, looking at where he guesses this stranger's face probably is ]

[ Itachi makes no effort to move -- not when he hears a unfamiliar voice before him, and instead he only lets his gaze go over Iggy with hardly-there interest with the other’s appearance. But as silence fell in the thick air for a few moments, Itachi stood with a sharp inhale that was followed by a soft noise of confirmation. ]

[ pause. and though it doesn't really show, iggy's listening intensely, memorizing this guy's breathing patterns, the sound of his footsteps. it's almost a habit by now, learning to recognize people like this, and it's only after he's had a few moments to commit them to memory that he gives a lax sort of half-shrug. blind eyes blank and unfocused. ]

[The kitten familiar is carefully set on Itachi's head. Eike is happy that Ginger seems to be a lot calmer in this place than at home; it makes for controlling her easier and people not bitten. Besides, Itachi seems like he is a little sad and needed some cheering up.]

Ah, well, at least we don't have to eat here. I would be really worried. Especially if we had to eat those monsters out there. I don't think they look very ... good food source. And it would be sad to do so. Don't you think?
