So, some of you (whoever you may be) may or may not know that I have a straining metaphorical hard-on for Dimitri Shostakovich's 11th Symphony. I guess this is a really distasteful thing to say, since the symphony is essentially about the uprising in Russia in 1905. But it's absolutely true - I love this symphony so much.

Well, I just saw the NZSM  ( Read more... )

I kind of removed the last line, since I shared on Bookface.
But thanks. <3
I like the idea of blow-dried kittens, as long as the setting on the hairdrier is not too hot.

Livre de visage.

Mew. <3

Yes, naturally. Kittens are too scrawny to eat. Adorable is not a factor for me, 'cause I totally want to try Bambi, at least once.

Although I agree with you completely - I am personally of the opinion that although orchestra music live is fantastic, the performance lets me down so much I don't tend to go see it - this is /such/ a just-came-out-of-nationals-sweet-adeline rant. Which amuses me greatly. I think we should send the showmanship judge their way, they'd have the shock of their lives!

I know, right? I feel strange about applying Sweet Adelines Cult ideology to this area of the musical world, but at the same time it would make so much sense. And look good! It's about performance and about the audience, essentially.

But it would be weird if they started doing back-flips. I wouldn't go to that extreme.

Nicky didn't do a backflip, it was a cartwheel!
Lol, we totally are a cult. That's ok, I've always been rather inclined to cult-like behaviour!
The thing is though, its not so much that its something unique to Sweet As, its just that we take it to an extreme that most performers don't. But then, when you look at us on stage and compare us to your everyday stand-still sing-with-straight-face-choir which is the more engaging, who would you rather be/be watching?
