There's a lot of that pretending not to notice going around. Before and after. The tantalizing little flutter on the edge of her consciousness was quite evocative, and I love how it explodes into technicolor awareness with the right trigger. And oh, what a trigger!

That something was going on here, something bigger than both of them but part of them, too. Whatever it was had allowed this to happen even though it shouldn’t, in a million years, have occurred.

The spell is over but the consequences live on.
