Because, inside, you know you need a kitten, and there are only three! So snap one up while they're still free, because in a couple of days you'll have to pay for one at the shelter.
In truth, the shelter is the better deal because you get full shots, testing, deworming, microchipping, and neutering for way cheaper than getting a free kitten and hopefully getting those done yourself, responsibly.
But by obtaining a free kitten and thus preventing it from having to go to the shelter (and perhaps never leaving) and depleting their resources further...maybe that's better in the long run.
I will have to further explore the truth and meaning of the philosophical stance that is "Free Kittens."
