i don't have time for this. i've been procrastinating all day. i may not get to this until tomorrow, but for the time being:
are there universal truths? yes, i think there are, and there is definitely one, and so i infer that it's opposite must also be true. what are they? sublime beingness that cannot be captured by our ability to reason. artists of the modernist era sought subversive means to give voice to it.
i don't believe that any truths are important. the question itself assumes to much about the nature of truth, such as the notion that truth can take the form of an object that can be examined and evaluated.
truth is. and what isn't is no less true. i know this sounds like a lot of nothing, but you of all the people in this community probably have a feel for what i'm getting at. sorry i don't have more time to get into it right now.
Finally, i've responded.drunkenwandererJanuary 15 2006, 05:58:32 UTC
just posted my response to the community. i'm willing to go as deep as you want to take it, though we likely differ fundamentally on this matter. i'm happy to flesh it out.

Are our opinions on others universal or personal truths?

If conversational topics had as much attention as applications did, we might all be a little smarter.
I would hate to diminish the seemingly primary importance of passing judgment.
But if that's true, where does that put passing kidney stones?
But then again, I wonder what this site would look like in magenta.
Or mauve.
