What you wrote is what I dislike about the USA. We moved here to this small farming town with 1200 people. It was quiet, not many people in town, not much traffic.
Now about 4500 live here -- mostly people from the city who have had land developers build them huge homes on land bought from farms. Many farms are gone forever. The people from the city complain about the smell coming from cow or hog farms. They wanted to live in the country -- "country air" is part of it.
Sorry, I wrote about something else. Trucks do not reach to the landfills. They move out into the woods off the road and dump the garbage there. People leave the bottles, plastic bags, cans in the woods and in the field.
