The dilemma prolly comes from using an unstandard resolution for the background. Some browsers will repeat the picture endlessly to fill the background, others will just display it once. There's actually a program out there that will optomize your picture so that you can't tell where one ends and the next begins when it gets repeated.

There's also some code you can stick in your journal to tell it not to repeat (as well as I think one that will force it to fill the background no matter what resolution the viewer is using), but I don't know it offhand. You'd have to check the FAQ.

Standard resolutions are 640x480, 800x600, 1024x768, and uh... something that starts with 1280 I think. Most commonly used at the moment is 1024x768, however I tend to use 800x600 for my backgrounds and also set a matching background color behind it, because an image that's too small looks better than in image that runs off the screen (in the case of actual images of like characters).

I already have so many overrides for my journal.... Background, Navigation Banner, Custom Comment Links.... My screen is 800x600.... The only person that uses a 1024x768((Could the numbers be more random?)) is my mom, but the actual monitor came with my computer.... She only has it because she is blind....That's why my CPU is black, my keyboard black, my mouse white, and my monitor is white....

1024x768 is pretty standard anymore. I'm using 800x600, but only because my monitor won't support the next level. I don't think they're random, but I have no idea what the multiplier is each level. I have a ton of overrides on my journal, and I don't even remember what they do anymore :-P

I do know my background is set to not repeat, so I know it can be done...

Do you think that you can find the code to force it to take up the whole screen since you already have it in your overrides?
