A Flailing

I just don't know how people do it. By *it* I mean, find balance, equilibrium, inner calm in a chaotic, busy life. I feel frazzled, anxious, overwhelmed, and just generally pulled in too many directions all at once. Something's gotta give. Those people who seem to have the perfect life are hiding something deeply ugly in the attic. Or, they are paying people to take care of a lot of stuff for them. We have a little of both.

Give yourself some slack and figure out what can give a little or if you can hire or trade some help somehow.

You're right about that - something's definitely gotta give. This week, it's running (the actual running & showering takes up a good 7-8 hours of my week). I'm sacrificing that so I have all my mornings to work. But I absolutely can't let that become a regular sacrifice - I'd lose my mind and get fat ;-) I'm actively looking for more work, another class or two to teach online. If that happens, things will only get worse, so I need to work on it now.

I'm not sure where I can cut corners, but I'm trying to think of some ways. Anything that involves spending more money isn't an option for us at this point though. That's a real issue these days. I honestly think some of this could be helped by calling my doctor about going back on some anti-depressants, since I'm finally done with all the baby-having and nursing!
