Sometimes I can't help but wonder...

All throughout my life, I've been in all-girls schools. All my out-of-school clubs are either women/girls-only or with a female teacher, and I have no brothers or male friends to speak of. Even my father would be away for weeks at a time when I was younger (he's around more now as he actually works in this country, thank god). And I just can't help ( Read more... )

I like the idea, sweetheart! <3 It sounds quite interesting. Not my cup of tea, because I tend not to read the more...fantastical fantasy stuff, but it would intrigue me :) I wouldn't look at the idea and go "eh, no". I like that the focus wouldn't be on the relationship too :)

Also, you've got me thinking about that too. I've never though about the lack of lesbian relationships in media, because...I've never really had to. Yes, I like girls, but I've never seen it as something that makes me who I am. More like...the colour I've painted my nails that day, but then I think the same about the fact that I like guys too. If that made any sense? Anyway - I have a list of films with same sex relationships around here somewhere...would you like me to have a look through for any featuring a lesbian couple as the focus, but in a stronger way than, as you put it, Hot Lesbian Sex?

I'm glad that you'd be interested! ♥ I've had these characters in my head for ages, and I'm really pleased that I can finally use them. :D

I guess I think about it a fair amount as it's such a large part of me that I get reminded about on an almost daily basis (although I admit it's mostly because we're doing sex and relationships in about three different lessons atm and it's all so damned hetero - no offence meant to straight people, but it makes my girlfriend and I feel quite excluded).

And could you look for any films with a lesbian couple that aren't all about the sex? I would really appreciate it. :)

I like your big bang idea. I definitely think you should go for it, and that you'll have plenty of readers. Me included!

As for your more personal question. I think it's a really subjective thing. And I think it's more than just a nature vs nurture question. I think you also gotta include the individual case. And I think what you really have to ask yourself is: Who am I attracted to? Which sex makes me horny (yeah I'm putting that right out there)?
And it's fine if you don't know right now. The answer could end up being "both", after all. And I don't really believe sexual orientation is a clear cut categorical thing.
My final big tip is - think about it while you're around others. It can be really difficult to work this out while alone.

Idk if any of that helped or not. It's something we all have to figure out for ourselves. And sooner or later we do. Heck, I'm not sure if I'm 100% sure, and I'm 23! : )

Aw, thanks. :D I'm glad that you like the idea. :)

At first I thought I was bi...then it's gradually turned into "gay with the odd straight tendency". :/ But, like you said, it's quite subjective.

But that's made me think, so thanks. :) It helps a lot. :)

I'm glad I could be of some help. I wasn't quite sure if I was coming across right. And I was also, believe it or not, feeling a little shy about dispensing advice since I myself am by no means seasoned or a old wise woman. I'm glad I got you thinking. That was my main objective. And again, don't stress. What you want to know will come to you.

Your idea sounds interesting though hunting angels is a squicky idea. Are they evil angels?

Have you heard of geonncannon? He has a lot of strong lesbian characters in his novels.

Well, it's set in a post-apocalyptic world where the angels decided they were sick of humans ruining the Earth so killed most of them. But they only did it because they wanted God to come back and thought that if they put the Earth to rights he might do so. So they're not evil evil, per se, but they kill humans when they find them so the angel hunters are the ones trying to keep people safe. :) Confusing, I know.

And I think I might have heard of him before, I'm not sure. But thanks for the link anyway! :D
