Aug 07, 2009 11:16

I wrote this one-shot yesterday. I was bored and I had the time to think of a beautiful one-shot. I hope you enjoy it!

I'm so grateful and happy that a lot of people are reading Mistaken Identity. I'm so happy to read your comments too. I promise to post up Mistaken Identity tomorrow. I might even post two chapters up.. (>_<)

Inspirations

Every time I look outside my window, I get inspiration from looking at people who walk in the city.

Families, couples or teenagers. They have something in common, secrets that they must keep within themselves.

When I look at them, I question myself. Why do we keep these secrets locked up in our hearts.

Hatred, sadness, happiness or confusion. These are emotions that are felt when something is revealed.

As I stared out my window, I see my life flashing at me. Time can never stop so make the best of it and live out your life as you want to.

“Akiko-chan, what are you looking at?” My manager asked me. I turned my head and smiled.

“My inspiration.” My manager cocked her head at me. I giggled and got up from my chair.

“Do I have a meeting to go to?” I asked my manager. She nodded her head and opened up her schedule book.

“You have a press conference to go to. It’s about your book becoming a movie.” I smiled and nodded my head.

“Which one?” I asked her. She looked down at her schedule book again and smiled. “Rain Kissed Romance.”

I hit my head with my hand and said. “Well, let’s go.”

~*~
I never expected I could become a writer. I always thought my job would be an OL lady. When I was in my last year of high school, I submitted a story to a contest in my local newspaper. I won the award and got a chance to become a writer for the newspaper.

After a few years, I quit my job from the newspaper and decided to write novels. I wrote 3 novels and they have won special awards.

I stared outside the window. As my limo passed by the people in the city, I observe everything.

I can’t help myself to look at my surroundings. Imagine what a normal life in the city would look like. I hardly go outside because of my pressuring manager. I always wanted a normal life as a normal person.

My limo stopped at a building and the car door opened. I got out to see a bunch of people with my books. I smiled and waved my hands. I walked over to a little girl who had Rain Kissed Romance in her hand. I smiled at her and wrote my name inside on the front cover. I looked up to see her mother behind her. She bowed her head to me and I smiled at her.

I heard my manager calling me over. I nodded and saw reporters covering me from every angle. A security guard helped me to a door. I was thankful for him being there.

I opened the door and walked towards the light at the end of the hallway. Then I saw one of my actors for my book there.

“Miyaki-san, this is…” My manager said. I nodded my head and smiled. “I know. This is Matsumoto Jun from Arashi.” My manager nodded her head and left to talk to the director.

“Hajimemashite, Matsumoto Jun. I’m surprised you know me.” He said to me. I smiled and said. “You’re the perfect image of Hiro in Rain Kissed Romance. When I saw your picture in a pile of actors. I immediately picked yours.” I said.

He blushed and smiled. “Arigato gozaimasu.” He bowed his head to me. I shook my head and asked him. “Have you read the book?” He nodded his head and said. “I could feel Hiro’s emotions when he discovers Keiko‘s secret. Also Hiro and Keiko’s feelings towards each other are very strong. I really enjoyed the book.” I nodded my head. I was surprised that he read the entire book.

“I’m glad you enjoyed it.” I smiled at him.

“Did you base the book on your past experience? It seems like it was written from the heart.” He asked me. I shook my head and said. “It was based on my sister's inspirations.”

“You have a sister?” He asked me again. I glanced at him and giggled.

“She told me a story similar to Rain Kissed Romance. I just changed their names and some of the events in the story.”

“Amazing.” Jun gasped and crossed his arms.

I nodded my head and said. “You should know the story well.. I mean, you were her inspiration.” Jun cocked his head. “What? I don’t understand..”

I grinned and said. “My sister. Her name was Akane. Miyagi Akane. She died from cancer in her last year of high school.” Jun gasped and took a step back.

“You mean..” Jun paused to collect his thoughts.

I giggled and said. “Yep, you became her inspiration. Which led me to write Rain Kissed Romance, in a memory of Akane.”

“I’m..” Jun said and he placed his right hand on his heart.

“Surprised, shocked, confused?” He looked up at me and nodded his head.

“Now, you know how my sister felt towards you. That’s why I picked you as the lead role. With that in mind, my sister wanted me to give this to you.” I reached inside my purse and pulled out a rock.

I handed it to him and smiled. “She will always be in your heart.” I walked away from him and I glanced behind me.

He was crying and holding the piece of rock tightly in his hand. I bit my lower lip and closed my eyes.

My sister’s inspiration led me to inspire other people to reach out for their dreams. No matter what is in your way, you can always find a path to it. I guess I fulfilled my sister’s dream.

To tell Jun that she had always loved him from the bottom of her heart.
