Happy Friday!! (or Saturday, depending on your time zone.) I hope you are enjoy your day and started to think about Christmas shopping (if you celebrate it that is). Although it's still November, there's already a few centimeters of snow outside. (((( ;°Д°)))) I had to fish out my winter gear and wrap myself in scarves, mitts and hats. Sometimes I envy people who live in hot counties, they don't have to spend money on winter clothes and can wear their summer clothes all-year round. But I sometimes get irritated when it's too hot too... Okay, let's put aside my rants and get on with announcing some news.
Currently I'm working on a request one-shot series by
hatori_sachiyo. It's quite similar to A Stormy Battle that I wrote some time ago. If you haven't read it, you can click
here. I will write 5 one-shots that will each have their own separate stories. Due to the nature of the request, it will consist of the same character (one lucky girl). Since Christmas is coming up soon, I will write these one-shots with a Christmas-y theme. So far I have one of the one-shots down. If you want to keep track of my progress, just check out the sidebar. I do update it quite frequently.
Anyways, I'm done talking so here is Chapter 10 of I Hate You and Then I Love You

Chapter 10 - Revelation
Michiko eyes shot up, as she felt something weird coming from her stomach after having a good night sleep. She jumped out of her warm bed and rushed into the bathroom to throw up in her toilet. As she threw up, her stomach hurt so much that the pain was almost unbearable to handle. She didn’t know what was wrong with her and wondered if she was okay. She threw up a couple of times before she made a final decision to miss her meeting with Yoshioka and get check-up at the hospital.
After she thought the coast was clear, she quickly grabbed her cell phone to send a message to Yoshioka to notify her that she’ll have to miss the meeting.
Gomen Yoshioka-san. I won’t be meeting you today. My stomach feels a bit weird so I’ll be going to the hospital for a check-up. Call me if you need me. -Michiko
After she sent the text, she dressed into some plain and casual clothes before heading out to catch the bus to the hospital.
As she sat in the loud and crowded bus, the bus had passed by a promotional truck that had advertisements posted from all sides of the truck. It was a promotional truck for Arashi’s new album. Her eyes naturally gazed at Nino’s picture on the truck where he was standing in the middle of the group shot. Through a fan’s eyes, Nino looked perfect with an intense look and his mouth closed to fit with the theme of the album cover. However it was different for Michiko. She had interpreted his expression as fake and distracted. She could tell that he was sad and was having a hard time trying to hide his feelings.
She sighed quietly to herself and turned her eyes away from the truck. Once she reached the hospital, she waited in queue for a consultation from a doctor.
Surprisingly Michiko was lucky that she didn’t have to wait too long. The queues for consultations were short and quick in order to avoid long line-ups. She didn’t even have to wait 10 minutes before she was quickly taken into a consultation room.
The nurse gave her a smile and gestured to her to sit on the stool to wait for the doctor. With her purse sitting in her lap, she began to fidget with purse strap when she couldn’t control her nervousness and anxiety.
“Arita-san?” A gentle and polite voice echoed inside the room and slowly Michiko looked up to see a pretty female doctor in her white lab coat with 3 different colors of pens stuck inside her coat pocket. She made a small smile since she couldn’t force her anxiety to disappear before the doctor arrived.
The doctor looked down at her clipboard and skimmed through Michiko’s medical records. She had a feeling that she knew Michiko’s illness but she wasn’t sure. She opened the cabinet drawer and grabbed a small needle. “Is this your first time having these symptoms?” The doctor asked as she looked at Michiko. She gulped and was taken a back when their eyes had met.
She replied with a nod and noticed that the doctor had grabbed a cotton ball with alcohol. She rubbed the cotton on her arm to prepare to take some of her blood for testing. She was beginning to worry that her illness was worse than she could have expected.
“Well, since your mother had a rare type of leukemia, I will run some test to make sure you didn’t inherit the same illness.” She said and then poked the needle into her arm to draw out blood. After the doctor finished with drawing out some of her blood, she placed a cotton pad to help stop the bleeding. Then the doctor quietly wrote down some notes before leaving the room. She furrowed her eyebrows at the doctor and began to doubt the doctor’s occupation as a doctor. Since this was her first time having her as a doctor, she decided to do what she was told.

Michiko played with her fingers as she waited patiently in the waiting area for the doctor’s conclusion of why she threw up and had terrible stomach cramps in the morning. As time passed by, her anxiety grew along with her concern for her own health.
How was she going to precede into the latter half of her life? What was waiting for her in the future? Will she be able to grow old like her grandparents?
“Arita-san?” The nurse that she had met before had come up to her. She had a huge smile on her face and gave off the impression that her illness wasn’t as serious as she thought. “Sensei* would like to see you now.” She said and then walked towards the consultation room that she was previously in.
Michiko’s hands began to tremble as she sat down on the stool again. She tried to keep a cool head the entire time but mentally, she was freaking out. Did she really inherit her mother’s illness?
The female doctor sat down in her chair and she also had a bright smile on her face like the nurse. “Arita-san, first I would like to say that your blood test came out clean and you don’t have leukemia. But…” The doctor’s voice trailed off and it almost felt like Michiko's surroundings had slowed down. Her panic mode had reached to its maximum level.
“When we ran through the blood test, we found the cause of your stomach cramps and vomiting.” Michiko’s eyes widened and her senses heightened as she was dying to know what was her reason for acting weird that morning. “Congratulations Arita-san, you’re pregnant."

A/N: In Japan, most people address doctors as sensei, which translate into 'teacher' in English. If you're curious about how Japanese terms work, you can easily search it up on Google. (¬‿¬)
