Was it actually anywhere close to January first for anyone who just recently wound up here? Or anyone, for that matter, because it definitely wasn't December for me when I left.

Maybe it's not the most important part of timeline differences we've got represented here - [lol it is still weird to see older!Tim here, what exactly is going on with ( Read more... )

It wasn't anywhere near January or December when I wound up here. Was weird celebrating Christmas when it wasn't Christmas that long ago.

Yeah, exactly. I mean, the eternal darkness and weird electricity are probably the bigger issues here, but the little things are still bizarre.

[A nod and a smile.] Well, the big things are easier to get used to than the little things, hu?

I'd still like a sunny day, maybe every third Tuesday or so.

It was Fall, but not this close to Christmas, but after finding out we're from totally different years, that's... Not that impressive.

How've you been holding up, Dick?

[The Bat-paranoia makes him hesitate a little before turning on the video, but he still doesn't recognize Tom even out of his werecat form, so he figures if he does recognize him, it's going to be as Bruce's kid rather than Nightwing.]

It's still just another weird thing. I've been alright. You?

[Actually, it's neither for the moment. He only knows you as Dick from Gotham, not as Dick Grayson and certainly not as Nightwing. You batpeople and your keeping identities off even the hero databases. Rude. He'd have stuck with the werecat form if he had thought about it, but he rarely notices which one he's in at any given time.]

Yeah, might as well add it to the long laundry list of mysteries to solve. I've been doing okay, finally found some decent clothes, that weren't horrible Christmas sweaters, and can lose the fur and tail for a while.

[Hey, lack of reaction is a good thing as far as Dick's concerned, Dick from Gotham is more fun than Gotham's Paris Hilton, and takes a lot less effort and brain damage to keep up, anyway.]

Sounds handy. I'd be a little concerned if horrible Christmas sweaters were our only options here.

When was it for you, before you ended up here?

It was like June. What month did you think it was?

August. The temperature drop took some getting used to.

You're welcome, and unfortunately I'm one of very few. There's another nurse here now, Rory Williams, and a couple of doctors, but we're it.

If you ever need an extra hand, I might not be a doctor, but I know enough first aid to be an extra set of hands.

That'd be wonderful, Dick. I'll make a note of it. I hope nothing disastrous happens here, but with that whole tree thing, then the Christmas stuff, it seems likely. In that case, anyone who knows first aid is valuable.

Exactly, I'd like to be optimistic, but all signs are pointing to "that might be stupid."

January was like three months past for me. I don't know whether I've gone forward or back.

Maybe neither. Since this probably isn't Earth, time might pass differently between where we left and wherever this is.

Passes differently? Dude, the sun doesn't come up. Of course it passes differently.

This is some weird ass, alternate version of Earth. If it's even that.

I'd like to find some maps before we start calling it Earth.
