[ action ]

[Clad in a similar sweater, Sofia walks up next to this man, hearing both his transmission over the "phones" as well as nearby. She has partaken in some of the eggnog, assuming it would not affect her in the way it did. Though she doesn't seem to be complaining right now, and she is enjoying the lights and the beautiful ornaments on the trees.]

They are beautiful, aren't they?

[She wobbles slightly, but she is able to catch herself.]

Beautiful, indeed. I have seen such splendor only in the churches.

[Madame, you are drunk... He notices.] Are you feeling alright, signorina?

It is nothing. [Sofia laughs it off, thinking herself silly for doing such a thing... though the lights seem to be dancing around her right now.]

I may have just slipped on the ice.

But si, signore. [Giggle.] One would think to see only this much... celebration... within churches.

[Okay, this looks dangerous. He'll just slip an arm around her shoulders to steady her.] Have you been drinking?

Nice sweater. Picked it yourself?

[She isn't laughing. Yet. But she's smirking at you.]

When I awoke this morning, it was already on my body. I do not know how or when I acquired it.

Ah. Maybe drinking will help you forget about it.

I had some innocent drink, and I fear it has made me a little... influenced already.

It's a German tradition, decorating trees at Christmas.

In Italy, it is not something we do. How interesting. What does it mean?

Hmm, I actually don't remember that part. I think it had to do with bringing evergreens indoors during winter because they wanted to be reminded of spring. The decorating had to do with Christianity... somehow.

[She laughs.]

I honestly don't know. Maybe I should have just kept my mouth shut.

I appreciate the insight, at any rate. Decoration and reverence go together for artists and Christians, so it is a sensible thing to think of.

It's all very - dramatic, certainly. You seem to be in a festive mood.

Yes, I seem to be. Is this the norm in your home?

Not my part of it, though I suppose some people probably still do hold on to old traditions.

They are old for you, then? [He's smiling too much. Gotta be the not!booze. And now he's filming the trees again.] Like Venezia, or Roma...

Si, you were my mentor and teacher after Perotto betrayed us. I worked with Tessa and Enu.
