[have Kaycee sitting under a streetlamp wearing ridiculous-looking earmuffs. she has a small satchel out and she's plinking wet-looking stones in it. it's snowing, but she looks relatively swell in her puffy jacket.]

Stupid question, I know...but...does anyone know what day it is today?

[more plinking of rocks going in the bag.]

I have no fucking clue. I don't even understand the idea behind your weeks and years.

[A pause.]

What the fuck are you doing with those rocks? Put some fucking gloves on, if you're cold.

Woah hey it talks! But yeah I figured aliens had a different way of telling time or something.

[she jingles the bag for extra measure]

I'm collecting them so I can eventually throw them at people slash monsters slash et cetera. Duh. And I do have gloves. Thing is, I had to put my hands in the stupid lake to get these things and I didn't want 'em getting wet.

Yes, it fucking talks. It also has a gender and a name, neither of which are synonymous with the word 'it.' For instance, I can tell you sound female over this shitty corpuscle device. Of course we do, and it's way fucking superior to your human years and weeks.

[And that jingling gets him to shut up, even if it's only for a moment.]

What the fuck is that going to do, besides make their collective think pans hurt when you wallop them with your rocks? Well, put them on now, if you're so fucking cold.

Different times and places, huh? Soon someone's gonna tell me that they were a magical talking pony or something.

...well I used to be a magical talking pony, but I grew out of it.

I liked walking on two legs better than four, lemme tell ya.

[/sob she's joking]

[HEY SUP DUDE]

Hey it's you! Now I get to see what normal you is like!

You think? Man, part of my hopes so but part of me doesn't. It's been awhile since I've gotten to celebrate.

[she chews the inside of her cheek and nods, shrugging her shoulders]

Yeah. Magical glowing rocks is my thing, man.

Hah, yeah. I promise I'm not actually a space case. As for the Christmas thing... well, these're kinda shitty circumstances to be celebrating in, but hey.

That's, uh -- interesting. Why magical glowing rock-throwing?

Man you sure? Because you totally seem a bit spacey right now. And hey, I'd take any circumstance to celebrate Christmas after three years of not being able to because it just didn't exist.

[SHRUG]

Eh, why not? It's no different than waving a stick around. It makes me special and that's just the kinda magic I specialize in.

It's just after the new moon. It's not Luna, but it was waning until last second-night, so I expect it'll be waxing now.
