[The video clicks on to Mordin, frowning down at the finished but not working omni-tool in front of him. He's triple-checked his work and as far as he can tell it's flawless. He's made the appropriate adjustments to the tech he's found and still, nothing. Not a flicker, not a short ( Read more... )

That's quite the leap. [But her expression's thoughtful rather than outright dismissive.] If that were the case, would it technically mean we're existing outside time, I wonder?

Hypothesis. Requires further testing. Electrical current does not simply stop. Omni-tool reveals this to be case. [Have a shrug.] Could not tell you. Have not been in similar situation.

Time doesn't just stop, either. [She drums one finger idly on some surface outside of the phone camera's field of view.] I doubt many have been in a similar situation, whether that's the answer or not.

Did not believe possible. Should also be impossible to be here. No recollection of kidnapping. Beginning to suspect nothing will happen as we expect. [Mordin paces.] Seems improbable. Other options. All tech glitching at once. No. Would not affect newly arrived omni-tool. Magnetic field perhaps. No. No. Would not affect pendulum clocks.

Queries: definition of "omnitool"?

Quantum flux phenomena known, or documented theory?

[This takes him forever. He's not fond of texting. It takes too long.]

omni-tool multi-function diagnostic tool capable of repair. tech scanning. medical diagnoses. statement on time hypothesis only. need more data.

[ Data? Soundwave has data. ]

Acknowledged.
Queries: Tool of personal design? Data required?

[He thought about texting you back but yeah, no thanks. Instead you get to hear him, which is actually good for you because you'll get more information this way.]

Specific omni-tool built and designed by myself. However, did not create them. Typically standard issue for military. Tech specialists. Evidence for or against, either statistical fact or observation. Simply in concept stages.

Theory confirmed, Professor Solus.

[They'd known, technically, but no one had asked them about it. Still, they are the mathematical equivalent of impressed.]

You were the only member of the Normandy crew to receive your omni-tool?

[That's just not fair.]

[You've been holding out on him!]

Have observed similar results? Where? How? Willing to share data?

[He glances down at his omni-tool, making sure it is, in fact, still there.]

Yes. Was one of several to receive item from home.

[Sorry Legion! He's trying here.]

[No one asked.]

Inability to hack tech despite all 1,183 runtime dedication - erroneous code and results suggest current is frozen. We are unable to share data without direct contact - our omni-tool is not present.

[He almost feels sorry for you Legion; he knows how much he missed his. Of course, that doesn't stop him from typing all of that information you just gave him in on his.]

Simple solution. At earliest convenience. Can come to you. Or other way around, doesn't matter.

permavideo;

Interesting theory, Doctor, though it fails to explain certain events.

Has exceptions. Suspect city simply toying with us. Could not be certain. What events? Can only be proven or rejected with data.

Death. Resurrection. The instance of duplicates. The tree, for more a more recent occurrence. Granted, all of these could be the fault of who, or what, is in control but they seemed... important to mention. In case there is an explanation.

Has been suggested as work of 'presence'. Cannot detect myself. Suggest speaking with Charles. Both able. Seem to be linked. Cannot identify. Could be work of captors. Most probable explanation. Duplicates suggest multiple universes. Not necessarily result of time flux.

[Still he takes the time to enter all the information onto his omni-tool just in case. All of it just goes under information about the city for now. He'll sort it out into 'time' and 'captor' files later.]

An interesting feat indeed. Not impossible, but extremely difficult to induce.

[Musing aloud. He's intrigued all the more by this...presence here in the city now. Trying not to be impressed.]

No... [But he's convinced that if he wanted to he could produce the spell that would do it.] But I have read many texts.
