[After several long minutes of panic about being in a morgue, and after wandering a few halls of the hospital, the young doctor finally settles down on a bench in a found lab coat and picks up his phone.]Is anyone else here? Can... someone tell me where I am, and why I'm... not dead? I didn't die, but this says I'm dead. It's pretty bad if there's ( Read more... )

[Perma-Video]

[ One of the things he disliked about blood bags was how stale it tasted. The chemicals were only a backdrop to the staleness and he could see why Kei never even bothered with the stuff when there were so so many people to choose from. But here there was no choice. He didn't have enough people let alone the criminal element to feed on.

Empty bags disposed of, all traces of his food gone, and he took a quick look at the phone to see what was new to this weird city. A new kid, Japanese from the looks of it, and very very young. Not in age - they were probably near the same age, but in life. Sho slumped against the wall next to the men's room sign and thumbs on the video. ]

It's not a dream. We're stuck in an empty city called Abax. No one knows why or how, but all of the people here woke up in the morgue with toe tags and no memory of why or how we got that way.

Did you find any clothing to wear? It's cold outside.

...None of that makes any sense. Can you start over?

The city's name is Abax. Everyone you can talk to on these phones come from different worlds and no one knows exactly what had happened to have them wake up in the morgue with nothing more than a toe tag.

And I asked if you found any clothing because it's been snowing off and on outside.

I found a lab coat. [SO EMBARRASSED.]

So I'm definitely not dead, I think. This is ridiculous...

This isn't a dream. We don't know who originally lived in this city, everyone who is here has arrived through the morgue the same way you have.

IF you believe this is a dream, why would you believe anyone telling you otherwise?

[Logic would dictate to him that a dreamer would think that those in the dream were simply...feeding him whatever the subconscious wanted to believe.]

I wouldn't... really. It's a figure of speech!

I apologize for my slowness.

Dunno, it was pretty funny for me. I got to leave some gimp douche locked in a freezer. Worth walking up cold and naked for that.

There are lots of people here, though we all came in the same way as you. We're all alive, though some said they remember dying before they ended up here.

As for the hospital, it's your typical kind.

An ER, ORs, ICU, research? But there's nobody here.

That's because the city's abandoned beyond those of us it brought here. The only people here at the hospital are ones who feel like living here, mainly those with a medical background.
