You are getting there, grasshopper.

In retrospect, I think that a better comment after the increased sensitivity etc. bit would have been "Yeah, well, YOUR MOM offers increased sensitivity and smooth adjustment feel, too." And I can't believe I missed the chance to note that a hex broach adjustment screw sounds positively kinky...

What do you think?

Since I happen to be at the National Radio Astronomy Observatory at the moment, I am reminded of one of the funniest serious videos I've ever seen. Picture, if you will, a bunch of '60s era science guys complete with buzz cuts and pocket protectors, making a very serious video about erecting a 140 foot radio telescope, and including (accidentally???) about as many double entendres as is humanly possible.

The climactic moment, as it were, came when the derrick heaved and the shaft slid into place...

Is this like the construction company whose signs proclaimed "we specialise in quick erections"?

What are you doing at the National Radio Astronomy Observatory?

Thank you, Aardvark. Needed that this morning. Time goes by painfully slow without any unintentional porn-y literature, and those have been few and far between lately.

Hehe. Of the five people on my friendslist whom I thought would most appreciate this post, three have already replied. Glad I could brighten your day - the Newport website certainly brightened mine!

When Brian was researching Geoprobes for work (even the name of the damn thing is dirty) he couldn't belive that the website information wasn't a joke. EVERYTHING about it was sexual sounding! Information about the size of shaft you could get, the hard drilling it could do, etc. It was awesome.

Ohh, I found it! http://www.geoprobe.com/products/products_menu.htm

Just one product description:

Geoprobe® 77 Series soil probing machines are the next generation of direct push efficiency!
This machine is especially ideal for sampling with 3.25-inch probe rods

77 in. probe cylinder stroke allows use of 60 in. probe rods
Over 20 ton pulling capacity for today’s larger sampling tools and deeper depths

Two-speed probe cylinder cycles from bottom to top in less than 5 seconds
Auxiliary hydraulic ports provide power for remote equipment . . .

And it goes on and on like that!
