Matthew Rubano Pic!Spam

So, we're given no other information than the fact that there's a new bass player in the band. A touring bassist perhaps so that Tyson can molest Nick on stage without his bass getting in the way? There are about a million news articles about this new development, but all of them just rephrase Tyson's tweet.

*shrugs* I am lucky in being so new to Bandom I don't take offence at line up changes, especially as it brought the stunning Dallon Weekes and the adorable Ian Crawford along on the P!ATD tour so can be (as far as I'm concerned) a Very Good Thing.

I am looking at this as suggesting that there may be a lot of bass parts/regular sections of three guitar parts on the new album that they decided would be too much for Tyson to cover whilst also singing on the epic, worldwide, humungous, playing everywhere tour they have planned. So, they're bringing in someone to assist him, which will leave him free to sing his little heart out (and jump, grind, climb, slide and generally make a debauched little devil of himself unencumbered.)

I reckon he'll still break the old girl out every now and then to give us a treat, but it's good to have extra backup and a lead singer who's free to run around and jump into the crowd to be kidnapped by renegade fangirls

I'm just protective of my boys! O_O

I'm kidding, but you're right. It's still going to be Tyson on the album, so it's not like he's become an official member. It will be like Bob(my creys)'s replacement in My Chem.

And don't forget the lessened barrier between him and Nick! They already get up to enough on stage and this will make Tyson even more nimble!

My first reaction was Matthew Rubano sounds familiar, who did he play for? Though I've never really listened to TBS much.

But I think he and Ty hang out quite a lot when Ty was in New York? I think those were the times when I could still call myself a twitter-stalker. Good ol' times. *g*

Anyway, he seems cute. And haven't they had an extra bassist before? With the small amount of songs Ty still plays on it seems pretty necessary.

Hahaha! I vaguely recognized the name, but it didn't mean anything to me.

Yes! And they were on tour together a few years ago.

Maybe. The concert I went to during the "When the World Comes Down" tour featured Tyson playing bass. *shrug*

Tbh, I saw the first picture and immediately thought "he's cute! he can stay." haha.

I think he might end up being like Toad - very much a member of the family and equally loved, but maybe not Officially Recognized in other capacities. Like in photoshoots etc. Basically a touring member.

I have actually heard of Matt Rubano and TBS - I'm quite impressed with myself actually, since it's been said that culturally speaking, I live under a rock.

He and the boys seem to get on well - he seems like good people, he can stay.

;_; Toad.

Edited to say OBLIGATORY KOALA PICTURE!! :D !!

Awww, I think it's awesome! I mean, he's no Toad (TOAD, TOAD, WHY HAST THOU FORSAKEN US!?), but he looks cool, right? And Tyson's definitely still playin' bass on the record, and they've had a bassist for years (it used to be Ethan, right, guys?), so... this guy's just an awesome new addition! He isn't even Toad's (TOAD!) replacement, because he ain't no keyboard player.

(TOAD.)
