We've updated our post about the February 7th casting call in Philadelphia with specific information as to the time and place, and several local volunteers are helping to organize a protest. If you're interested in joining in, please do so -- the stronger a front we present, the harder it will be for Paramount Pictures to continue to ignore us ( Read more... )

Oh, right on! I especially like that glockgal (and you?) picked a service for these shirts that includes both sustainable AND union-made options. You guys are great!

We only wish the base prices were cheaper! Though at least you get a nice shirt for what you're paying!

And yes, glockgal did an absolutely fantastic job. <3

You guys are incredible. I really hope that this movement succeeds. Because as much as I'm upset, I really do want to see an Avatar movie. A real Avatar movie, not whitepower!Avatar. I can't tell you how proud I am to be a part of this fandom. I wish I could do more to help. I'm going to keep sending emails to local newspapers with information about the campaign, but so far I haven't received any responses.

I've decided that if this doesn't work out, some day I want to organize a fanmade film. I'm white (and certainly no actor xD), but I could help with visual effects and video editing. Of course, that's just a crazy idea, and one that should probably wait until I'm in college. But I'm determined to do that if this doesn't succeed.

"... including Mako, sadly deceased, who was the voice of Uncle Iroh."

Until a White guy replaced his role, and nothing substantially registered in protest, either on the internet, or through mainstream press outlets.

Mako died unexpectedly while the show was still in production and had to be replaced on very short notice ( ... )
