Like a Prayer, one of my two favorite Madonna albums and appeared on Rolling Stone's list of the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time:

Singles: Like a Prayer, Express Yourself, Cherish, Oh Father, Keep It Together, Dear Jessie (outside US)

A couple of pictures from the photoshoot for the Like a Prayer album, by Herb Ritts:

The Like a Prayer video, which caused Pepsi to pull the ads she had done for them (but she got to keep the $4-5 million) and the Pope to call for Italians to boycott her Blonde Ambition dates there. The video actually has an anti-racist messsage. A black man comes to the aid of woman being murdered, but he is arrested for the crime and jailed, until Madonna, who has witnessed the crime, secures his release.

The Express Yourself Video, which at the time was the most expensive video ever. It was directed by David Fincher, who would later direct Se7en and Fight Club:

The Cherish video, directed by Herb Ritts:

With the Blonde Ambition dancers:

With boyfriend at the time, Warren Beatty. They hooked up on the set of Dick Tracy. Random. He's always looked like an ass to me.

The Justify My Love video (the song was released on The Immaculate Collection) which was banned on MTV:

Madonna and MJ, they dated for a very brief period...totally random. Imagine them having a conversation. :lol

At one of the premieres for her documentary, Truth or Dare (or In Bed with Madonna in Europe).

Erotica:

Singles: Erotica, Deeper and Deeper, Bad Girl, Fever, Bye Bye Baby, Rain

From the Erotica video, which if I remember correctly only aired three times after midnight on MTV:

From the Erotica Video/Sex Book:

Looking fairly hideous with no eyebrows in the Deeper and Deeper video:

The Rain video:

From the Rolling Stone session in which she posed as actress Dita Parlo, also the persona she took on during this period:

A shot from the Bad Girl single cover session:

A picture from The Girlie Show, which in spite of all the Madonna backlash at the time due to the whole sex era, sold out entirely.

Bedtime Stories:

Singles: Take a Bow, Bedtime Story, Secret, Human Nature

Another shot from the Bedtime Stories session by Mario Testino:

The Take a Bow video:
