Yep. I'm immersed in my PoA swap this weekend. Here is an in-progress pic of 3 of the 4 Azkaban-themed crafties I'm distracting myself with:

Eeee, PoA swap!! Why am I not a part of this???

Your crafts-in-progress look fantastic! I loveloveLOVE the Grim tea-bits embroidery. Can't wait to see what you're going to do with the Knight Bus pieces and the freezer paper I spy underneath!

I think the signup for this swap closed right before you joined. The group does a swap every other month, and for now, we're working our way through the books. (We already did a Deathly Hallows swap when the movie came out, so I think we're just going through HBP with this theme.) Lisa the Swap Elf always announces the theme and then you have about a week or so to sign up. Then about a month to craft before the mailing date. Next swap...it's all you! :D

You can't imagine how relieved I am that you saw the Grim. I was seriously questioning the believability of that embroidery! It's going to be a teacup pincushion. I finished the Knight Bus quiltling (tiny quilt) today and will be making and stencilling an Azkaban tote tomorrow. What a weekend! :)

I believe I see a stencil in there... Ugh, I need to make some stencils... I haven't painted anything in ages... and I have all these plain tees...

I need to see iuf I have a darning foot for my kenmore... I know I have one with the Singer 301A, but I haven't set it up on the table, I should probably do that so I could have it for quilting & piecing and the kenmore for clothing/craft sewing.

That's a stencil alright! I just finished painting and it came out kinda crappy, but I was sort of wanting a crappy, prison-stencilled look. So that's okay. I hope you get to the point soon where you can put enough pressure on that shoulder to wield an Xacto!

Two machines set up for two tasks...dream craft room! If your Kenmore didn't come with a darning foot, you may be able to use your Singer foot. My darning foot is an incredibly generic eBay find which purportedly fits all low-shank machines. It fitted my Pfaff and it fits my Brother.

Well, it's the left shoulder, and I'm a righty, so I can wield an exacto now, I just can't hold the paper down with my left hand. Same problem I have with holding down the quilting rulers to use my rotary cutter. I went and spent good money on some new pinking shears yesterday, and then after cutting several 3.5" squares a little while ago I gave up. Scissors are for the birds. I miss rotary cutting! :(

Unfortunately the Kenmore is a super-high slanted shank, so it's not easy to find feet that fit. I've tried just loosening the pressure on the foot and sewing sort of meander-ey, but the stitches weren't great.

The Knight Bus is an excellent pattern. One of those that makes you smile every time you look at it. The yellow windows came out to look so inviting....I really want to flag it down and hop on. :)

The FMQing is getting slooowwwwly easier. And more fun!

Love, Love, Love all of your swap goodies!!! Wish I was joining in the swap this month but I am a little crushed with time. Can't wait to see the finished items. I Love the Grim!!! Looks awesome. Did you do it with french knots? What type of fabric is it on?

Thank you! I'm all finished and will post again with pics after I've sent everything out next month.

Yep, those are all french knots. It's actually a thick lining fabric that I love using for small embroidered pieces. It's got a muslin backing on it, too.
