Amazingly, I finished almost all of my crafty tasks that needed doing before I allowed myself to start on 1 of 12. And I have four whole days left to finish it! o.O
Cutting is always the big chore for me. Once I have that done, I feel like I fly through the rest of a project. I think that's why I love paper piecing so much...I rarely pre-cut!
I'm very excited to see my PoD too. The lady is nearby and was very accommodating when I explained the many mysteries of my quilt top (odd fabrics, embroidery to avoid being quilted over, etc.). She just did a freehand meander and I am very much looking forward to getting it back!
Cutting is the hugest chore, especially when there's lots of alterations. And clearing space on the floor to cut, especially with cats and kids around. I had a dream once that I was in an abandoned airplane hangar with a giant cutting table. All for me. We can dream, can't we? :D
I love paperpiecing for the same reason! I have been known to slap a whole FQ onto the line and sew the seam! Better too much than too little. :)
Oh, no! I did not mean to make you panic! It's the February 10th birthday for carilea and it's Quilter's Choice. Being the beginning quilter that I am, I'm paperpiecing for every Quilter's Choice. It is so much easier for me.
Ah, gotcha. SO are you blowing the pattern up after you print it? And if so, how do you know what percentage to blow it up? Because I thought about doing that, but was concerned I wuld get it made and then it's too small. Although I guess I could just put a border around it within the color scheme to enlarge it to the right size, duh... hmmm
Ah, how I long for the days when I had imaging software with which I could resize patterns to my heart's content. When my Mac died, a part of me died. *insert swelling string concerto*

Wait, what? There's a paper-pieced birthday block? How did I miss that?

Anyway, now I'm getting my paperpieced patterns from Quilter's Cache (http://www.quilterscache.com/QuiltBlocksGalore.html in case my html is messed up).
You can choose blocks by size and they have oodles to choose from!
