On Dating Tall Men

Oct 06, 2010 12:42

Carl was at initially both amused and confused when I told him that, even though he's 5'10", he's still one of the shortest men I've dated. There's nothing wrong with that, but I've always had a tendency to date men much larger and taller than myself ( Read more... )

Yeah, you have a bit of a space issue. :: laugh ::

When I visited Yuujin seven years ago, he came home and said, "... can you reach the microwave? I just remembered you're short." :: laugh ::

I date big & tall men, too. It's not too difficult for me to find men who are taller than I - I'm 5'8", which is not very short, but not anywhere near tall, either.

I used to be almost 5'11", but a bad fall robbed me of about 3" of height. This is okay, as I don't mind being shorter - shirts & sweatshirts fit me a bit better now, LOL!!

Lost 3" of height?? From where???

I'm 5'2" so it's not hard to find guys taller than me, but I tend to go to the extremes (going for guys 6'5"-7'2").

I fell on my back over 30 years ago, and fractured several vertabrae.. this caused me to lose 3" in height.

Egad, I'm sorry. Do you have mobility problems from this? (HUG)

I can't recall, have we ever walked down a busy street together? people WALK FACE FIRST INTO ME on a regular basis. Even when I try to evade them. And they ALWAYS squeal and squawk about how it's my fault, ALWAYS.

You know, that's another one -- people apparently kamikaze into guys I've been with. I haven't witnessed it with you but how dare you take up space people are walking in. Tsk tsk tsk. ^_-

My current theory is that when people are on autopilot, they are scanning at their eye level for faces, and avoiding faces, and that of course means they are scanning at my chest level and so their autodetect doesn't notice me. When I walk through a crowd I'm looking for pairs of feet walking toward me, cause if I scanned at eye level I woudn't notice hardly anyone.

i tend to walk with eyes to the ground; i, too, look for approaching feet.

I'm 5'8" and have always been egregiously enamored of guys over 6', the taller & bigger the better. Good lord I love em. I envy your ability to find & date them. Guys like that generally prefer guys much smaller (in girth) than me.
