My brother had recently become obsessed with Dr. Who. That's so cool that you saw the original broadcast! I remember the news about the incident back in '87, and have seen the video of the Dr. Who interruption several times over the years.

I hope someday we learn more about who pulled off thei awesome feat of culture jamming!

I have a similar thing. We had gone on a road trip when I was a child. At some point, half asleep, I was staring at the TV my uncle had on. A distorted/odd looking cartoon of people being turned to stone freaked me the fuck out. I used to think of that thing often and get the heebies. It definitely got more and more distorted in my head over the years.

Many years later in college, a friend of mine popped in The Beatles "Yellow Submarine" and I was all, "uh...THAT was what gave me the willies?"

There was also a picasso replica a doctor had in a house we used to watch for him when he was on vacation that used to "stare" at me through the door of the bedroom I slept in that I *hated*. The perspective on it freaked me as a kid. I was convinced it was evil. heh.

And yeah, that broadcast is bizarre.
