I recently got a book on the Georgian language -- oy will screeves make a fun write-up! -- but the beginning chapters -- in order to familiarize the reader with the Georgian alphabet -- asked the writer to transliterate a transliteration of one of Shakespeare's dramas. And this was my inspiration for today's Multilingual Monday. Let's take a look

Awesome... I didn't know you were interested into Georgian alphabet as well :)
I have to get my friend Josu to do the Basque version for you

Eskerrik asko! I know Basque translations exist but I couldn't find any of them ;_;

And Georgian is a language I've HAD interest in; it's just that I couldn't find any sources until recently (and even then, my sources are pretty old; it still says Georgia's part of the Soviet Union :: laugh ::).

Yes. Yes, you should ^o^ If for nothing else because Slovene gets so little attention here because I know so little about it!

that's interesting... is the georgian alphabet related to the burmese alphabet in some way? they have a similar look.

Not that I'm aware of, but there's a bit of debate as to just where it came from. The earlier versions of the Georgian alphabet are right here, and it's not unreasonable to assume SOME connection to the Greek influence, considering some similar characters and the same general alphabet order.
