Hugs. You're not a failure at life. I couldn't figure out how to wrap hamburgers when I worked at Burger King years ago. Meanwhile I was taking honors calculus. It doesn't mean squat.

I just feel like i should be good at this because if i'm not i'm a failure at life. Well that's more of a knee jerk thing I'm coping with. Thanks :)

Starting work at a new place and having to learn new stuff is seriously stressful... With registers just take your time when youre accepting ppls money and giving change, go slow. Ignore it if the customer is acting impatient, they can wait. And if theres things about working the register that youre not sure youre understanding, ask coworkers as many questions as you need to, as many times as you need. You are definitely not a failure! You are totally awesome. It is awesomely brave to be taking on a job. As for ptsd interfering w/ life.... *hugs hugs hugs* *love love love*

I have been asking! incooperating tips. double counting. part of the shock was I lost so much. It was just a total suprise and I wish I knew what I was doing wrong specifically because the tips I've used clearly aren't working.

I was a wreck when I first had to work a register. No matter how "easy" it may seem no job is ever without its complications. Just because you're not getting it yet doesn't mean you won't. *hugs*

And hey if it makes you feel any better even after two years of working at a register there were still times when I came up short. It happens and it doesn't mean you're any less capable because of it.
