So, I was thinking of constructing a post explaining how the Damon/Elena scene can, at the very least, be constructed as rape (THERE IS OMINOUS MUSIC AT THE END). And how rape within the Damon/Elena relationship is not a new element, if for no other reason than Damon is a serial rapist who raped her best friend (and those aren't the only reasons, he's been sexually abusing her in one way or another since 1x03). So, while the sire bond development is disgusting, it's not like the idea of Damon having total power over a woman is a new idea. And Damon has been very free about how willing he is to use his power over her since the get go.
