I'm finally at the part of FMA that isn't rereading. So I want to talk about some of the scenes I loved best. I didn't bother to upload them all from squeeing about them on Twitter or tumblr. On a reread I may have a more comprehensive look at some of my favorite scenes. I'm enjoying the manga so much more this time around - the themes are

How old is Mei? I put her at eight.

There isn't an official age. I'd peg her at a small twelve, my own self - Arakawa's 8-year-olds look like Selim, and Mei's proportions are quite different. She's not much TALLER than him but hey, she's tiny.

AL/MEIIII I LOVE THEM SO MUCH. They are both so ridiculously sweet, and Alphonse should have a girlfriend who loves him and Mei should get her man (like seriously), and later they have this great dynamic that almostkinda looks like ship development from Arakawa. Roy/Riza may be my favorite of the pairings, but Al/Mei kind of snuck up on me.

I dunno, there are so many things that I love in these panels.

There are so many subtle things. Like, the way Riza'a face changes when Roy calls her (right at the moment when she's been threatened by Selim, if I... remember correctly.) Or the way Dr. Knox has obviously been effected by Ishval. Or subtle references to the conflict in Xing. AND THERE IS PLENTY OF UNSUBTLE STUFF TOO. (His quuueeennnn~)

Arakawa is totally toying with Al/Mei. Mei wants him and Winry teases Al about it. I'm just not sure if it's going anywhere.
