1. I do like Spoony, in spite of his inexplicable hatred of FFX, so I watched his review expecting some lulz. There was some but man, the transphobia was bad. I even forgot other stuff that annoyed me. Oh, well, I disagree a lot that Yuna is a doormat though

I don't get the new school/old school argument either. FF didn't actually change that much between the two. It seems a lot like IT'S POPULAR NOW IT SUCKS.

Cecil is, in fact, possibly the angstiest FF hero ever. Him or Terra. People complain about Squall but Squall is just following in his predecessors' footsteps!

I really get titchy when people complain about Nomura, too. Nomura's designs are fine. They are no more or less revealing than Amano's original ones. You just can't tell because Amano's work was all made into 2" tall sprites.

I would love to read that rant. Spoony talked about how he didn't like FF9's design - and I actually think it's pretty fair, though I think FF9 probably has the best, in terms of charm.

There are a few episodes I liked! And I really loved the idea behind the arc but.... I actually scraped my brain to remember the arcs of most of the characters and I feel I have it. I just... can anyone give me a summary of Giles and Buffy's relationship? And some fanwanking on Giles, who I am convinced was possessed by an angry fangirl Yerk who was mad about Buffy in season six so made Giles not!Giles in season seven.

I'm playing FF13 this weekend! I'm enjoying it so much. It's not perfect, but it's beautiful, the battle system is engaging and easy to get the hang off and the characters and I love all the characters so far.

And the main character is a girl! (I know that you can argue that Yuna and Ashe were the main characters of X and XII respectively, but this time it's official!)

Yeah I'm really happy about that. I loved Terra, but it's been way too long since they put a girl in the lead. It'll probably take awhile for me to be able to play thirteen.

I don't know re: Spoony and I doubt I'll watch anymore of it. He keeps reminding me he's a middle class white straight cis USAmerican guy in a bad way.

It's in FF6. There's a rerelease for the GBA if you have it. I have a few problems with the game in the second half, but it it really is a good game.
