You know, I really ought to go and "discover" a flat screen TV at the nearest Best Buy; hey, it's the founding principle of the United States of America, as our Indian friends have so graciously reminded us. ;)
i'm reading lies across America and it's... I really had no fucking idea how painfully whitewashed most of it is.
I also hate that I never learned of the good race relations between Blacks and Native Americans/American Indains right after the Civil War. It was a glimpse of what Reconstruction could have been.
I hope that stuff like this starts to get published into history books more and more. 1. It gives everyone a feeling that they can make a statement and 2. points out that Native Americans/American Indains still have a thriving community despite of 500 years of genocide.
