So what's the plot of this book? As soon as it seems to be getting one, it veers off, usually into something about Quinn's gross and exploitative sex life.
I DON'T KNOW ostensibly it's supposed to be him explaining to Lestat what the deal with Goblin is and how Quinn came to be a vampire, but it's so long and rambly and tangenty and it just...doesn't seem like how a person would actually explain it? This worked in Interview because Louis very deliberately wanted to give his entire life story to a reporter for the purpose of publishing and getting it off his chest because he's weary and sad, so like...it makes sense there. And is also covering CENTURIES. This is, I just...this is more a situation where being succinct and to the point would make more sense for what he's doing AND frankly be a better read.
Silly mental image of the day: Lestat has pulled a yoyo out of one of his pockets (one that's ridiculously expensive and fancy, natch) and is sat doing tricks with it while Quinn yammers on. Quinn hasn't noticed.
